PSG swept aside Real Madrid with a precise and calculated performance, defeating them 4-0 without needing to exert themselves to the limit. With this dominant win, the French side advances to the final of the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid sealed their fate in just eight minutes during the first half, conceding two goals due to defensive errors that PSG’s powerful attacking force took full advantage of. The Parisians imposed themselves early, dominating ball possession and launching relentless attacks that defined the match.
The first two goals came swiftl, Fabián found the net in the 6th minute, followed by Dembélé in the 9th, both capitalizing on mistakes by Asensio and Rüdiger that left the Madrid goal exposed to the French strikers.
Real Madrid showed occasional sparks through Mbappé and Bellingham, but were unable to break through. PSG, on the other hand, extended their lead to 3-0 in the 24th minute with another goal from Fabián, set up by a sharp assist from Hakimi.
The scoreline could have been even worse for Los Blancos, but the referee ruled out a goal by Doue in the 48th minute due to offside.
Second Half
The second half continued in the same vein, with PSG maintaining control of the rhythm, possession, and attacking play. Real Madrid, meanwhile, managed only a few timid efforts going forward.
Madrid coach Xabi Alonso made his first substitutions in the 63rd minute, taking off Vinícius, Bellingham, and Asensio to bring on Militão, Modrić, and Brahim Díaz. However, the changes had little to no effect, as the trio failed to make a meaningful impact on the pitch.
PSG remained composed and methodical, showing no signs of frenzy as they calmly built their attacks and maintained possession for long stretches. Their tactical discipline kept Madrid at bay, allowing them to dictate the tempo.
The French side sealed Madrid’s fate in the 88th minute, when Gonçalo Ramos scored the fourth goal—an exclamation point on a commanding display by Luis Enrique’s team.
The result leaves Xabi Alonso with significant work ahead. Although he has only overseen five matches so far, a long and challenging season lies ahead for the young and inexperienced manager.
