LAFC and Flamengo played to a 0-0 draw at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, in a Group D match that had little at stake. The Brazilian side had already secured qualification, while LAFC had been eliminated in the previous round.
Flamengo dominated the first half, controlling possession and mounting several attacks. In contrast, LAFC showed little offensive ambition, managing only two real chances: a long-range effort from Mark Delgado and a goal scored by Marlon that was disallowed due to four LAFC players being in an offside position.
In the second half, Hugo Lloris made a key save to deny a powerful shot from Everton, keeping LAFC level. Flamengo continued pressing, but a defensive lapse allowed Denis Bouanga to break the deadlock with a surprise goal. After receiving a long pass from Tillman, Bouanga sprinted into the box and finished calmly, leaving the Brazilian goalkeeper helpless.
Botafogo refused to give up and kept pushing forward. Their persistence paid off in the 86th minute when Wallace Yan scored the equalizer after a precise assist from Jorginho.
With the draw, LAFC finishes at the bottom of the group with just one point, one goal scored, and four goals conceded. They are eliminated along with ES Tunis.
Flamengo secures the top spot in Group D, with Chelsea advancing as the second-place team.
