American midfielder Johnny Cardoso is leaving Real Betis to join Atlético de Madrid in Spain, a move that was finalized and officially announced today, July 16, by the club.
Cardoso, 23, had recently extended his contract with Betis until 2030 but has decided to wear the “colchonero” colors this season.
Cardoso is a key player for the USMNT and brings international experience with the United States national team. He currently holds a market value of €30 million, reflecting Atlético de Madrid’s strategic investment to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new La Liga season.
Atlético continues to reinforce its squad for the summer transfer window, having already completed four official signings this July.
